No, "evoo" is just an acronym for extra virgin olive oil, but the reason Ray is so annoying with it, is that, at least every time I've seen her do it, she doesn't just say "evoo", she says "ee-vee-oh-oh-extra-virgin-olive-oil".

Which kind of misses the point of shorthand.

I think "smashed" is a genuine British-ism, though. I heard it used as a synonym for mashed potatoes long before I'd ever heard of Rachael Ray.
