I've found that with all books, though. I have a hard time reading longer documents online (or entire books, ye gods, no) and prefer hard copies. This is ironic, since I have been practically living online for about ten years now, but I find it just looses something. It's less pleasant.
Now I feel the need to go spend a shitload of money on Amazon ordering this and all my favorite childhood books, on the small chance I might have kids one day, because I could not stand their "dinosaur books" to be about Barney, or to have Elmo at the end of the fucking book.
My niece has the new version. It's a good thing she can't read and just shrieks in delight at the mere sight of that thing, because she'd be sorely disappointed with the book's contents otherwise.
I'm sitting here doing everything I can to both avoid and complete the employee reviews that I have to have done tomorrow. I am so stressed out that my ears are tingling at the edges and the back of my neck is full of grade-D gristle. I come on to Livejournal. And get to heave the biggest, happiest sigh.
Everyone on my team is getting a kickass review now.
That book is wonderful. I have a copy of it in my car right now, actually. I've bought it like three times; I keep losing it, or giving it away. I used to make the kids in my arts and crafts programs turn the pages--they loved it when the wall fell down. Awesome.

Date: 2006-01-19 10:20 pm (UTC)I once wrote a story where someone had put a hit out on Elmo, as well as the other 'new' Sesame Street Muppets.
Best line: "I think it's time we sent Elmo to sleep with the Fraggles."
