Remember a few laughs ago when I said Velveeta was obscene? Well, here's proof. If Ed Herlihy weren't dead already, this would've killed him.

I don't need permission to do so! I hate macaroons. Especially macaroons with registered trademarks in their names. Way to be 0 for 2 there, Kraft. If anybody needs me, I'll be quietly dry heaving over in the corner.

I love macaroons, but only when they're covered in chocolate. The site says if I like macaroons, then I might like asian chicken with peanut slaw. This seems like a much bigger jump than velveeta confections to macaroons. On the other hand, coconut and chicken are both foods. hmm

When I was a child "cheese" meant "block-style box of Velveeta". "Fancy cheese" or "hors d'oevres cheese" meant marble cheddar, and was Not For Babies.

Note, the ingredient list calls for 32oz of sugar and two sticks of butter. With two pounds of sugar, you could probably make fudge out of latex paint and still manage pass it off to the unsuspecting stoners salivating at that recipe.

Dude, when I was in high school in ... the mid-late 80's I listened to the Paul & Phil show on my morning commute (I lived in the sticks). One morning, the guys were out on the K Street Mall in Sacramento, offering their "homemade" fudge to innocent passers-by. After recording their inital (usually favorable) reaction, they divulged the "secret ingredient."
The reactions were priceless.

These are the same pair who brought to radio the "Pay Phone Challenge," featuring cash rewards for such daring deeds as Lime Jell-O Wading in wintertime, singing the National Anthem over a bullhorn in the airport, and other noble pursuits.

They also organized "Car Phone Dating" during the same era, encouraging folks to hit on people in adjacent cars during their morning commute.

Man, I miss that show.

You orta get yourself over to the Michigan State University's Dairy Store and order you some chocolate cheese (http://shop.msu.edu/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=DAIRY-4). It's perfectly appropriate to mix chocolate with real honest-to-god cheese and tastes fantastic. Velveeta is only meant for combining with canned meat chili to make chili con queso dip.

You can also order cheese- and milk-related items from the MSU Dairy Club (http://www.msu.edu/~dairyclb/cheesesale.htm), but be aware that their cheese shaped like Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulae are not geographically accurate.
